Advanced Art & Design

(Pre-requisite:  Art 1 / Beginner Art or permission of the instructor)
Art 2 / Advanced Art & Design will be both project & research based.  This means that some of your time will be spent looking, listening & talking about art, design, music & film and the rest of the time you will be learning how to use new tools to explore your creative sides.  Everyone has a creative spark and their own unique way of expressing it.  You will learn a new set of tools that develops your creativity in fresh & exciting ways.

The tools & techniques that you will learn about include: Drawing, Painting, Print Making, Book Building, Ceramics, Woodworking, Sculpture, Movement, Performance Art & the Culinary Arts (edible art!).  You will work on various project themes throughout the year, with the last trimester being focused on independent art projects.  Art 2 will also have several visiting artists coming in throughout the year to teach workshops & weeklong classes on various subjects.  This will give you an opportunity to create relationships with the artists that could also lead to possible internships within their studios.
